Abstract
Group psychotherapy in university counseling centers has evolved to treat a variety of problems that college students experience, and several counseling centers now have vibrant group treatment and training programs. Prospective group members and many therapists, however, continue to feel uneasy about group therapy. This mutually shared uneasiness stems from a fear of public exposure about revealing one's vulnerabilities or lack of competence. If left unexamined, this uneasiness can inhibit the use of group therapy as a major treatment modality.Mesh:
