Laparoscopic repair of Amyand's hernia in an 8-week-old infant.

M R Rehman1, C Panteli, T Tsang.

Abstract

Amyand's hernia is a rare type of hernia in which the appendix is found in the inguinal canal. A case of an 8-week-old boy who was diagnosed and managed laparoscopically is presented. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of emergency laparoscopic surgery for an Amyand's hernia in a young infant.
