Abstract
This study is a report identifying actual and potential faecal leakage problems among ileostomists in relation to the use of different types of stoma appliances and accessories. A descriptive survey was conducted among 1035 respondents with an ileostomy. Fieldwork took place between August 2008 and September 2008. A structured questionnaire was mailed and returned by participants. This article offers a report of the findings, exploring the plight of the ileostomist in relation to the incidence and management of faecal leakage.Entities:
