Abstract
Neisseria gonorrhoeae will grow in an anaerobic atmosphere if provided with nitrite as a terminal electron acceptor, and it is increasingly apparent that this important pathogen may grow anaerobically in vivo. By modifying a previously described chemically-defined medium we have produced a liquid medium capable of supporting growth of N. gonorrhoeae under strictly anaerobic conditions.Entities:
