Abstract
Birth injuries to the brachial plexus have not disappeared in spite of improvements in obstetrics. Many of these palsies spontaneously recover but some will require a surgical approach. Over the last 30 years, the author has explored and repaired 1026 brachial plexus injuries in infants who had not recovered biceps function after three months. Repair is always feasible and its results far better than spontaneous progression. The results are evaluated after 20 years of follow-up for some patients. Their evaluation confirms the importance of early plexus surgery.Entities:
