Abstract
A variety of non-dermatophyte moulds can cause human onychomycosis. We report an unusual case of onychomycosis caused by Phaeoacremonium parasiticum, which has not been mentioned in the literature before. The diagnosis was made by a clinical-mycological correlation. The pathogen was identified by morphological characteristics and further confirmed by sequencing of the β-tubulin gene.Entities:
