General practitioner hospitals and residential homes.

.

Abstract

In Scotland, there are about sixty general practitioner hospitals where general practitioners have direct and sole admitting rights to beds. In addition, there are many residential homes both local authority and private where general practitioners visit and treat patients. Particular problems in prescribing can arise in these institutions.
