Abstract
We describe a case of a ganglion cyst of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and review the literature of this rare entity. Because of the rarity of such cysts in the TMJ, an accurate diagnosis is not usually made preoperatively. Treatment is surgical but, if a diagnosis can be made, a period of conservative management is justified. 2009 The British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
