Abstract
Omega-3 fatty acids are commonly used as food supplements not only for their positive effects on the blood lipid profile but also for their cardioprotective properties. The majority of the commercially available products is made out of fish oil. Apart from the unpleasant side effects, up to 10 capsules per day have to be taken by the patients. This article describes the development and characterisation of an alternative lipid nanoparticle delivery system, which has the potential to reduce side effects and enhance bioavailability.Entities:
