Exploring the nursing implications of physician-assisted suicide in the UK.

Frances Trowell1.

Abstract

The issue of physician-assisted suicide causes strong feeling on both sides of the debate. It is unlikely to be legalised in the UK in the near future, but debates around assisted death--whether with or without physician involvement--occur regularly. This article explores some of the practical, legal, ethical and educational implications for nurses if physician-assisted suicide were to be legalised in the UK.
