Abstract
The case of an early retroperitoneal abdominal pregnancy implanted on inferior vena cava successfully resected through laparoscopic surgery is reported here. A 28-year-old woman presented with vaginal spotting and amenorrhrea for 7(+5) weeks. Although a diagnosis of right cornual ectopic pregnancy by transvaginal ultrasound was made and a laparoscopic wedge resection of the left uterine cornus was performed, the beta-human chorionic gonadotropin level remained high. Abdominal ultrasonography and computerized tomography of the abdomen demonstrated a 3.4x2.6 cm sized hypervascular cystic mass along the anterior aspect of the Inferior vena cava. A diagnosis of retroperitoneal abdominal pregnancy was made and a laparoscopic resection was performed. This is the first retroperitoneal abdominal pregnancy that has been treated through laparoscopy.Entities:
