Abstract
The discovery of trans-regulation of histone H3K4 methylation by ubiquitination of histone H2BK123 generated much excitement in the field of chromatin biology. Recently, the veracity of this example of cross talk between histone modifications in yeast was challenged (Foster and Downs, 2009. J.
