Abstract
OBJECTIVE: This article will highlight the latest accomplishments in the area of MRI of diabetes including imaging of beta cell mass, imaging of autoimmune attack in type 1 diabetes, imaging of islet vasculature, and imaging of islet transplantation. CONCLUSION: Diabetes is a devastating disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Noninvasive imaging could greatly aid in the diagnosis, staging, and treatment efficiency of this disease.
