Senegal: growing intolerance towards gay men.

Abstract

The arrest and conviction of nine gay men in Senegal in January 2009 is part of a disturbing pattern. A largely Muslim country, Senegal has become increasing intolerant of homosexuality in recent years, despite having a reputation for liberalism and openness.
