Abstract
A 54-year-old man with sudden onset of aortic regurgitation due to aortic cusp rupture is presented. Urgent operation was undertaken and mitral valve replacement was performed with good post-operative course. Intraoperative examination revealed the detachment of right coronary cusp, prolapsing into left ventricle. There was no findings suggestive of bacterial endocarditis. Histological examination of excised valve revealed non-specific chronic inflammatory changes with focal area of myxomatous changes.Entities:
