Abstract
In this issue of Cell Metabolism, Kaufman and colleagues (Back et al., 2009) elegantly demonstrate that appropriate regulation of eIF2alpha phosphorylation improves glucose tolerance and beta cell viability by preventing the lethal buildup of oxidative damage due to unregulated synthesis, trafficking, and misfolding of proteins.Entities:
