Scheme 1Synthesis, characterization and crystal structure of a copper(II) mixed complex with histamine and nalidixic acid, a compound of the quinolone family, [Cu(hsm)(nal)H2O]Cl∙3H2O is reported. Biological studies performed with this compound revealed that it interacts with DNA in vivo inducing the SOB response on Bacillus subtilis, however nuclease activity is not observed in vitro experiments
