Abstract
Worldwide there is a rapidly expanding problem of obesity and it is one of the greatest public health challenges of the 21st century. This is affecting the developing world in particular, with obesity related comorbidities representing a significant problem. The most effective treatment for severe obesity is bariatric surgery, producing improvement of comorbid conditions, sustained weight loss and restores life expectancy towards normal. This is one of the most technically challenging branches of general surgery, and has a long learning curve before operative proficiency is seen. The aim of this paper was to provide a review of bariatric surgical techniques with a summary of recommended ''top tips''.Entities:
