Abstract
Lung cancer is the worldwide leading cause of cancer deaths. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) represents about 15% of lung cancers with a poor 5-year survival rate. SCLC can manifest as a paraneoplastic syndrome, which can include unexplained gastrointestinal dysmotility symptoms. The awareness of these presenting symptoms and recognition that serum markers, such as anti-Hu antibodies, mediate the paraneoplastic neuromuscular aspects of SCLC are highlighted in this case report of a patient with anti-Hu antibodies presenting with gastroparesis, pseudoachalasia, and impaired intestinal motility.Entities:
