Abstract
A ventricular lead via the left subclavian vein revealed an unusual course. Venography demonstrated a bilateral persistent superior vena cava. The required atrial lead was inserted through the right subclavian vein with a regular course. In case of bilateral persistent superior vena cava - if preoperatively known - the right-sided implantation of pacemaker leads is recommended. The incidence of this anomaly is about 0.3%.Year: 1997 PMID: 19484526 DOI: 10.1007/BF03042502
