Magnetic resonance imaging of the elbow.

C P Ho1, D J Sartoris.

Abstract

The application of magnetic resonance imaging to elbow imaging holds great promise in view of the ability to demonstrate the complex anatomy of the elbow in multiple imaging planes with high soft-tissue contrast. Inflammatory or noninflammatory processes and traumatic disorders all may be well assessed by magnetic resonance imaging, particularly articular disorders or marrow and surrounding soft-tissue lesions. Evaluation and staging of neoplasms also may be done using magnetic resonance imaging.
