José Joaquín Mira Solves1, Gilberto Llinas Santacreu, Susana Lorenzo Martínez, Virtudes Pérez-Jover.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Articles on e-health and e-patients have been increased exponentially.
RESULTS: Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are presented on how the Internet affects relationships between doctors and patients, along with the answers based on the results of empirical studies.
CONCLUSIONS: An even higher use of the Internet is envisaged as a source of health information. The Internet can be an ally so that the patient may access reliable information and advantage can be taken of its dynamism to help the patient achieve autonomy.
