Abstract
The maxillary swing procedure provides an excellent approach to the anterior skull base region and to the clivus. The osteotomy should not be standard; it should vary with the size and position of the central skull base tumor being resected. The main reason for publishing this article is to draw attention to a method of preventing ascending infection from the oral cavity to the intracranial area using the palatal overlap flap. Examples of this approach are provided.Entities:
