Abstract

Learning is a highly individual process that depends on multiple factors, e.g., previous knowledge, level of attention, personal interest and motivation. Efficient learning may therefore be facilitated by offering individual learning phases during educational sessions. The sandwich design of teaching sessions represents a superior principle which supports efficient learning processes by integrating individual and collective learning phases and using a wide range of didactic methods.
