Abstract

We report right-sided mixed deafness with objective pulsating tinnitus and a circumscribed bluish-red bulging discoloration of the ear drum in a 8 year old girl caused by a transtympanic course of the internal carotid artery. The diagnosis was established by clinical examination, impedance audiometry and CT scans, and was confirmed by angiography.
