Abstract
Few cases of Trichosporon species infection have been reported in children. The present report describes a case of fatal disseminated Trichosporon asahii infection in a child treated for relapsed leukemia. Voriconazole has previously shown promising activity in vitro, and has been used successfully in the treatment of T asahii infections. The patient died five days after voriconazole treatment was started, and the autopsy revealed widespread systemic dissemination to all organs.Entities:
