Extensor pollicis longus tendon rupture in an adult after intramedullary nailing of a radius fracture: case report.

Jason Fanuele1, Philip Blazar.

Abstract

This case report details the late rupture of an extensor pollicis longus tendon in a 21-year-old woman who had intramedullary nailing of her radius fracture. We identify possible pitfalls with this particular patient and with other intramedullary upper extremity techniques and discuss how to avoid them in future cases.
