Vascular response to the vasa vasorum in a carotid artery dissecting aneurysm.

Abstract

Collateralization of a hemodynamically compromised internal carotid artery (ICA) by the vasa vasorum is rare. We report the serial radiologic findings of an apparent hypertrophied vasa vasorum of the cervical ICA, which was secondary to arterial dissection.
