Abstract
Thirteen cases of coerced and forced sterilization of HIV-positive women have been documented in Namibia. In this article, based on a presentation at a concurrent session at the conference, Jennifer Mallet and Veronica Kalambi explain that this is just the tip of the iceberg. The authors provide details of the 13 cases and describe how this procedure violates numerous laws and international obligations. At least two of the women have filed lawsuits in the High Court.Entities:
