Abstract
BACKGROUND: Assisted dying has wide support among the general population but there is evidence that those providing care for the dying may be less supportive. Senior doctors would be involved in implementing the proposed change in the law. We aimed to measure support for legalizing physician assisted dying in a representative sample of senior doctors in England and Wales, and to assess any association between doctors' characteristics and level of support for a change in the law.Entities:

Figure 2Views of senior doctors on the legalisation of physician assisted suicide. More doctors oppose PAS (49%) than support it (39%), and the opposition is more opposed to the Bill than the support is in favour of it.
Raw data cross-tabulations of various factors with doctors views on physician assisted suicide and on whether they would assist in suicides were it legal to do so.
