Abstract
Previously, lime (calcium oxide) was recommended by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) as an anthrax disinfectant. However, a recent scientific review of the subject has found evidence to suggest that exposure of anthrax spores to calcium may aid in their survival and viability. For this reason, the CFIA no longer recommends the use of lime for agricultural anthrax disinfection.Entities:
