Abstract
Phosphorylation of erythrocyte membrane proteins by membrane protein kinases was studied in 10 normal subjects and 8 patients with hereditary spherocytosis. No difference between the two groups of subjects was observed in the total phosphorylation, and, the phosphorylation of spectrin and components III and IV 5 in presence and in absence of 3',5'-cyclic AMP. So, no deficiency of membrane protein kinase activity seems to be present in hereditary spherocytosis.Entities:
