Abstract
A 48-year old man was admitted with suspected acute myocardial infarction because of severe precordial pain and monophasic ST-elevations in the ECG. The patient's history of an ongoing infection, the localization, extent, and course of the ECG changes as well as the development of a pericardial effusion suggested viral perimyocarditis. The diagnosis was supported by a significant rise of antibodies (seroconversion) against influenza A virus.Entities:
