Abstract
A 57-year-old man was referred to our hospital for further evaluation of an abnormal mediastinal shadow detected on chest X-ray film. Chest CT showed a solid mass and a cyst. Operation revealed a squamous cell carcinoma of the thymus adjacent to a thymic cyst. Histologic examination demonstrated the clear separation of the squamous cell carcinoma and the thymic cyst by interstitial tissue. Cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the thymus combined with thymic cyst are very rare.Entities:
