Abstract
We describe a patient with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C virus coinfection who experienced recurrent episodes of acute HIV meningoencephalitis. The addition of etravirine to the therapeutic regimen completely resolved symptoms, and HIV was no longer detected in cerebrospinal spinal fluid specimens. Etravirine has a satisfactory safety profile and, in this case, was a durable alternative therapy for HIV meningoencephalitis.Entities:
