Abstract
In cases of soft tissue defects in which the calvaria is exposed, the use of flap is generally considered. However, in cases in which patients' general status is poor or vascular insufficiency is present, the use of flap becomes difficult. A 90-year-old male patient visited our outpatient clinic with a chief complaint of scalp defect accompanied by calvarial exposure after falling from an escalator. The patients' systemic status was poor, and the soft tissue defect was accompanied by calvarial exposure. Treatment involved removal of the outer table of the skull and application of acellular human dermis (AlloDerm). Then split-thickness skin graft was performed in a single phase. This shortened the treatment period and produced excellent outcomes. Here, we report our case with a review of literatures.Entities:
