Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to assess the role of the addition of coronal reformatted images to MDCT in the evaluation of suspected acute appendicitis in pediatric patients.
CONCLUSION: In pediatric patients with suspected appendicitis, the addition of coronal reformatted scans to axial images in MDCT increases confidence in the diagnosis or exclusion of acute appendicitis.
