Abstract
Nausea and vomiting occur in a large number of disease conditions and as side effects of many drug treatments, including use of analgesics and anesthesia in surgery and chemotherapy in cancer treatment. Current anti-emetics provide relief from only some sources of vomiting, with more limited benefits for the control of nausea. Elucidation of forebrain pathways that generate nausea and brainstem circuitry controlling emesis are significant obstacles for the development of effective universal anti-nausea and anti-emetic treatments.Entities:
