Abstract
Merkel cell carcinoma is a rare cutaneous malignancy that occurs mainly in the ultraviolet-exposed areas of the head and neck region and has a mortality rate higher than that of melanoma (33%) with a tendency to recur. The clinical features, diagnosis, work up, and current recommendations for treatment of Merkel cell carcinoma are discussed.Entities:
