Adult intussusception presenting with target sign.

Emmanuel C Gorospe1.

Abstract

Intussusception occurs when a proximal bowel segment telescopes into a contiguous distal portion. This report describes a rare case of idiopathic intussusception in a 48-year-old female, complaining of right-sided abdominal pain. The abdominal CT scan presents a classic target lesion, representing the cross-sectional image of the intussusceptum layers inside the outer intussuscipiens.
