Abstract
A simple method has been designed for the oxidation of iodide to iodate in natural waters and subsequent determination of the iodate by differential pulse polarography. Iodide is oxidized to iodate with sodium hypochlorite and the excess of oxidizing agent is destroyed with sodium sulphite. The concentration of iodide is calculated as the difference between the concentrations of iodate in a sample before and after the oxidation.Entities:
