Abstract
The primary role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the evaluation of patients with parkinsonian syndromes is traditionally thought to be the differentiation between neurodegenerative and symptomatic parkinsonisms. Non conventional MRI techniques, however, could improve the clinical diagnosis by detecting ultrastructural damage even in brain regions not suspected to be involved. Moreover, functional MRI provides useful information upon the pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease.Entities:
