Renal cell carcinoma in two patients with crossed fused ectopic kidneys.

Primary renal malignancies involving crossed fused ectopic kidneys have rarely been reported. We describe two cases of renal cell carcinoma involving the orthotopic renal moiety in one patient and the heterotopic crossed renal moiety in another patient. Both patients were treated with surgical excision and preservation of the uninvolved renal unit. 2008 S. Karger AG, Basel
