Abstract
Telomeres are essential for chromosome stability and replication. Maintaining a balance between telomere shortening and lengthening is essential for cell viability. Recent work on telomeres from yeast, Drosophila and mammals, and on telomerase has provided insight into the mechanisms of both the shortening and lengthening processes.Entities:
