Abstract
Cytosine methylation is associated with gene-silencing mechanisms in a number of eukaryotic organisms. Recent studies directed at the involvement of methylation in promoter inactivation, X-chromosome and duplicate sequence inactivation and in chromatin structure changes, are presented.Entities:
