Abstract
The case of a patient with follicular dendritic cell (FDC) sarcoma with chromosomal aberration add(21)(q11.2) is described. Cytogenetic studies showed the karyotype 46,XX,add(21)(q11.2)[3]/46,XX[17], although the encoded protein involved was not clarified. The abnormal pattern was quite simple, and different from a previous report. The clinical course of the FDC sarcoma in this case has been indolent, as for most FDC sarcoma patients. Although this patient suffered from breast carcinoma 6 years after the onset of FDC sarcoma, the carcinoma showed different histological and phenotypic profiles.Entities:
