Abstract
Individual variations in drug response are crucial factors in both the development and deployment of therapy, yet we are still woefully ignorant of the majority of this genetic basis. Here we discuss the convergence of genetics and genomics to dissect such pharmacological variation, with emphasis on satisfying the requirements of both genetics and pharmacology itself, the appropriate use of model organisms and the often overlooked power of genetic dissection to inform understanding of physiological process.Entities:
