Abstract

Percutaneous recanalization of coronary artery chronic total occlusion remains a technical challenge for the interventional cardiologist, with a lower success rate than most other lesions. Operator experience and specific tips and tricks with novel dedicated technical devices are needed to obtain procedural success in the majority of situations. The authors report a case of successful revascularization of a chronically occluded left anterior descending coronary artery using a novel penetration device (Tornus, Asahi) to facilitate balloon and stent deployment.
