The influence of erythrocytes on the stimulation of chicken lymphocytes by phytohaemagglutinin.

P C Powell1.

Abstract

The degree of in vitro lymphocyte response to phytohaemagglutinin was found to be correlated with the number of erythrocytes present in the cell cultures. In order to achieve reproducible results it was necessary for the cultures to contain constant numbers of erythrocytes. A standard method for the stimulation of chicken lymphocytes by phytohaemagglutinin is described.
