Use of silver enhancement technique for immunohistochemical detection of epidermal growth factor in rat submandibular gland.

K Kato1, S Yokose, Y Tajima.

Abstract

Low temperature photochemical silver staining was used for immunohistochemical demonstration of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in the rat submandibular gland. EGF was shown to be clearly localized in granular convoluted tubule cells. Silver staining with an immunogold method showed excellent resolution of the antigen localization.
